Fibre Protector for Rugs, Furniture and Fabrics
Protector genuinely works, and we recommend it for new rug and furniture purchases, as well as after every professional clean. When we treat your textiles with protector, we groom it into the pile so that each individual fibre is coated. This blocks liquids and dry soils from embedding themselves deep into the fibres in the first place.
There are many solvent-based and water-based protectors on the market, commonly used across the cleaning trade. After years of research, we have chosen the best-performing line of fibre protector for our clients and for the interior designers we work alongside.
Just as important as which protector is used, is how it's applied. Our team includes licensed applicators to ensure your textiles get maximum, even protection.

We treat ALL fiber types, NATURAL & SYNTHETIC.
- Synthetic fibres such as polyester, nylon and olefin
- Natural fibres such as wool and silk
- Cellulosic fibres such as cotton, linen, jute, sisal, hemp and seagrass
- Rayon, viscose, Tencel and bamboo silk
- Animal hide
The Benefits of Fibre Protector
- Individually coats each fibre using nanotechnology, shielding it against dry soils and liquids
- Suspends spills momentarily so they're far easier to clean up, rather than sinking straight into the pile
- Improves the results of everyday dusting and vacuuming, because dirt can no longer embed itself on a molecular level
- Delivers better results at your next professional clean, giving us a much better chance of lifting stubborn stains, including pet marks
- May allow you to go longer between professional cleans
- Is the only way to properly protect natural fibres such as wool, and delicate fibres such as viscose, silk, linen and jute sisal
- Comes with built-in UV protection, helping to guard against sun fading
- Is chemically inert once dry, making it safe around family and pets
- Creates a bacteriostatic environment that helps prevent the spread of bacteria, mould and fungus
- Helps improve indoor air quality, as your rugs stop attracting dirt, dust, allergens, mould and bacteria
This truly is one of the best ways to protect your investment.

How Does Fibre Protector Compare to Other Products?
| Feature | Fibre Protector | Other Products |
|---|---|---|
| Stain Protection | Creates an invisible shield against oil and water-based, stain-causing liquids and soils, with a reduction in UV damage too. | Basic protection against some liquids; few offer any UV protection at all. |
| Longevity | A nanotechnology-based formula creates a penetrating bond. Nothing lasts forever, but performance holds up for years and survives many professional cleans. | Topical, surface-level treatments that wear off with normal use and cleaning — usually needing reapplication every 6 to 12 months. |
| Silicone | Contains no silicone. Never has, never will. | Many well-known products contain silicone, which can yellow certain fibres and attract soiling as it breaks down. |
| Safety | Contains no PFOA or PFOS. It's the only protection product in the world to hold EnviroSeal® certification. | Some products still rely on older chemicals linked to environmental persistence and health concerns. |
| Bacteriostatic Performance | Clinically proven to reduce mould, mildew and bacteria growth by 99.9%. | No proven benefit in this area. |
| Fibre Wear | Reduces surface tension, helping prevent particles attaching to fibres and reducing fibre-on-fibre wear. | Time-limited protection with more frequent reapplication needed. |
| Contact Safety | Independently tested and proven harmless to humans; chemically inert once dry. | Some products contain irritants that can affect sensitive skin. |
| Fluorocarbons | Laboratory verified to contain none whatsoever. | Some leading brands are fluorocarbon based — industrial chemicals linked to greenhouse gas production. |
Long-Lasting Protection for Years
We recommend fibre protection on all new rugs and furniture, with reapplication after every professional clean. As a general guide, area rugs benefit from an in-plant clean every 2–4 years, though we always recommend "cleaning to condition" rather than the calendar. If you have pets, young children, spills, or lighter-coloured rugs in busy areas of the home, they may well need attention more often.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to clean a rug?
It depends on the type and size of the rug. Send us a message with the rug dimensions and a short description or a picture and we’ll give you a quote straight away.
How long does it take to clean a rug?
We usually allow 10-14 days for the rugs to be returned.
How to clean a rug at home?
We do not recommend DIY rug cleaning. If the colours are unstable they will run – usually the reds and the blues migrate into the light surrounding fibres. Rugs made from natural fibres also need to be dried very quickly. We use a centrifuge to extract the water and have a climate controlled drying room to dry all rugs within an optimal timeframe which cannot be done at home.
My rug fringes and edges are frying . Can you repair them ?
Yes, We can certainly fix them.
